The player in question is Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Manchester United went into the last January transfer window targeting a right-back, but changed their minds due to the strong form of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Manchester United’s no.1 right-back at the start of the season was Diogo Dalot. The Portuguese impressed under Erik ten Hag and was one of the best right-backs in the Premier League early in the campaign.

His back-up, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, remained at Old Trafford, but it did look as though he had fallen out of favour and was set to leave the club in January.

However, following the Premier League’s return from the 2022 World Cup, Wan-Bissaka stepped up an impressed in a number of games for United.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Wan-Bissaka’s future:

“Manchester United have a number of other priorities at the moment – they have to resolve the Andre Onana situation, sign a new striker, clarify centre backs situation and then we will see.

“AWB did excellent in second part of the season so this will become a topic only in case they receive an important bid, not a loan or similar.”
