Manchester United have, finally, reached a definitive agreement with Premier League rivals Chelsea over the signing of Mason Mount.
It is of course common knowledge that England international Mount has long been identified by Erik ten Hag and co. as the missing piece of the midfield puzzle at Old Trafford.
Ahead of the expiration of his contract at Stamford Bridge in 12 months’ time, talks, in turn, have long been kicked into gear between the respective boards at United and Chelsea.
Despite Mount himself being keen on the prospect of a move to Manchester, however, to this point, no deal had been struck.
This came amid Chelsea’s insistence that their hefty valuation of the Cobham youth product be met.
Last week, in turn, widespread confirmation was forthcoming that talks had broken down between the respective parties.

‘Manchester United have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Mason Mount.’
The deal, it is understood, is based around an initial fee of £55 million, with a further £5 million worth of add-ons also potentially set to come the way of Chelsea.
Mount, as a result, will imminently travel to Manchester to undergo a medical, before putting pen to paper on a contract at Old Trafford.
