Manchester United look to be in the market for a new goalkeeper.

David de Gea has been a mainstay in United’s side for many years and recently entered the Red Devils’ top-10 list for most appearances.

However, De Gea is not good with the ball at his feet and as Erik ten Hag prefers to play out from the back, it would make sense to sign a new shot-stopper who is good on the ball.

The Athletic recently reported that Manchester United had Athletic Club goalkeeper Simon on their shortlist of De Gea replacements, and the Spanish international has now spoken out on his future:

“No one from the club has told me ‘Unai, we’re thinking of selling you to earn money’. The club always gives me the confidence that I am always here,” says Simon, as reported by Diario AS.

A fariyl vague response from the United target but give the summer transfer window is still a way away, a lot could change in the next few months, with Simon possibly replacing De Gea for both club and country.
