The home support in attendance at Liverpool’s meeting with West Ham United this evening made use of the opportunity to take aim at Irons defender Kurt Zouma.
This of course comes after the French international found himself at the heart of a disgusting controversy early in February, as footage surfaced online of Zouma physically abusing a pet cat in his home.
And, just shy of a month on, many of a Liverpool persuasion evidently feel as though West Ham’s defensive stalwart should not be allowed to simply put the situation behind him.
In turn, during their side’s meeting with the Hammers on Saturday, droves of Reds supporters inside Anfield made their feelings crystal clear.
First, ahead of kick-off on Merseyside, a banner was flown over the stadium, which read:

Then, each and every time Zouma was in possession of the ball, a loud chorus of boos and jeers rang around Anfield.
Not only that, but some went as far as to bring along inflatable cats to the clash, lofting them into the night sky as chants of ‘a cat, a cat, a cat’ were heard:

Mane makes the difference
Turning attentions back towards the action itself on Saturday, a solitary goal ultimately proved enough to guide Liverpool to a 12th straight win across all competitions.
Despite West Ham carving out a number of presentable opportunities over the course of the 2nd-half, Sadio Mane’s close-range finish just shy of the half-hour mark proved the game’s decisive moment:

Liverpool, in turn, have climbed back to within three points of Premier League table-toppers Manchester City, ahead of Sunday’s highly-anticipated Manchester Derby.
