Match report
Another disappointing day’s work for struggling Chelsea on Saturday ultimately culminated in the Blues being held to a share of the spoils by relegation-battling Nottingham Forest.
Frank Lampard’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago.
Fresh off a morale-boosting victory over Bournemouth last time out, Chelsea welcomed the aforementioned Forest to Stamford Bridge, eyeing a 2nd league win on the spin.
When all was said and done, however, despite the best efforts of Raheem Sterling, the capital giants’ efforts came up short.
It was visitors Forest who opened the afternoon’s scoring, when frontman Taiwo Awoniyi got on the end of Renan Lodi’s fine delivery to nod beyond Edouard Mendy.
Chelsea, though, came roaring back early in the 2nd-half, turning the clash on its head courtesy of Raheem Sterling’s brace.
The cutback, the curler into the far corner.

Just when it looked as though the hosts were back in control of proceedings, however, Forest showcased their fighting spirit once more.
This came upon Awoniyi bagging his 2nd of the afternoon, in the process sparking fresh discontent throughout Stamford Bridge:

And this was how things remained through the full-time whistle, on another altogether forgetful day for all associated with Chelsea Football Club.

Fan reaction
Enzo could have stayed at Benfica, won the league and had the pick of most top clubs in the summer but decided to join this satanic institution playing next to Gallagher and Kovacic and finishing 12th in the league.

Kovacic has been dreadful again. Awful.
— Futbol Chelsea (@FutbolCheIsea) May 13, 2023
Ruben only has to make a couple forward passes to have a better game than Kovacic did.

Lewis Hall is worse than Chilwell and Cucurella btw

Chalobah the right back has actually been very good these last two games. He was quality there too for that goal 👏🏼

Mudryk would have won us that game tbh pic.twitter.com/jmuy1t8aaX

Mudryk should be starting every game from now until the end of the season.
We have nothing to play for so should be using the time to develop and get some game-time. So frustrating. pic.twitter.com/rVpu29kUI9

Lampard won his 7th game to avoid 007 memes & is now back to losing ways. He’s doing it deliberately.

Forest hadn’t gotten a single point away from home in five months, until today.

Game over. 2-2. A couple more boos at the end, not as much as at half-time. Chalobah probably my MOTM for #CFC even though Sterling scored twice. Subs did not work. #CHENFO
