Manchester City will play host to Newcastle in the highlight of the third round draw for the Carabao Cup, it has been announced.
The Premier League champions welcome the up and coming Magpies, who they beat 1-0 earlier in the season, and will be looking to win back their Carabao Cup crown after two years without it
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side take on Championship high-flyers Leicester City in another mouthwatering tie, while Arsenal will travel across London to take on Brentford in one of five all-Premier League ties.
Chelsea edged into the third round of the competition courtesy of a late winner from Enzo Fernandez after a mistake from Wimbledon goalkeeper Alex Bass after falling behind early on, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side will face Brighton, where Moises Caicedo will take on his old side.
Elsewhere, current holders Manchester United will host Crystal Palace and Aston Villa will take on Everton.
Lincoln Town, who knocked out Premier League side Sheffield United on penalties minutes before the draw was made, were rewarded with a home tie against Premier League side West Ham and Salford City, who beat Leeds United on penalties on Tuesday evening, will welcome Vincent Kompany’s Burnley side to the Peninsula Stadium
