Liverpool and Chelsea are ready to go head to head for Brighton talent Moises Caicedo, in a move that could cost the successful side up to £70m to land the talented central midfielder.
Caicedo, who was the 2022 World Cup with Ecuador, could have joined Manchester United for just £4m before he made the move to the AMEX Stadium, but now his value has multiplied aplenty following a series of impressive outings for the Seagulls.
The 20-year-old Ecuadorian midfielder has taken his chance in the Brighton engine room, filling in for the now departed Yves Bissouma, and has been a revelation at the Amex Stadium in the latter part of last and the beginning of this season.

Only arriving at the club in January 2022 (following a year on loan), Caicedo has already racked up 22 appearances for the Seagulls, in which time he has managed two goals and two assists, while his performances have caught the eye of Europe’s elite sides.
Speaking ahead of his World Cup ventures, Caicedo admitted that it would be hard to turn down interest from Chelsea or other big clubs.
“Right now I’m very focused on Brighton and the World Cup. I want to have a great World Cup and then we’ll see what happens”, he told Ole.
Now, both the Blues and Liverpool are reportedly interested in a January move for the Ecuadorian, who is under contract at Brighton until 2025. Brighton are thought not to want to let him leave midseason, and rejected a summer bid of £42m from Liverpool last transfer window, valuing him closer to £70m and what would be a record sale for the club.
Liverpool are desperate to add quality in midfield, with Jurgen Klopp’s side also strongly linked with teenage sensation Jude Bellingham. Chelsea, meanwhile, are looking to hoover up young talent, with Carney Chukwuemeka, Wesley Fofana, Omari Hutchinson and Cesare Casadei all having joined over the summer.
