Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has, on Monday, provided a brief update on the club’s ongoing pursuit of Manchester City star Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Versatile full-back Zinchenko, of course, has been hotly tipped for a move to north London over the course of the last week.
This comes with the transfer team at the Emirates, after seeing their push for Manchester United-bound Lisandro Martinez come up short, having turned their attentions firmly towards the Ukrainian international.
Negotiations, in turn, were kicked into gear between Arsenal and City last week, with the Gunners understood to be enthusiastic when it comes to their chances of sealing a deal.
This comes after Edu Gaspar and co. were successful in their pursuit of another member of Pep Guardiola’s ranks – Gabriel Jesus – already this summer.

Speaking to the media whilst in attendance at Arsenal’s training ground during the club’s tour of the United States on Monday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Zinchenko’s potential arrival was put to Mikel Arteta.
Arteta simply assured that, as of this moment, ‘there is no update’ regarding any potential reinforcement to his squad, albeit with the Gunners continuing to work towards securing additions in a number of positions across the pitch:
