Chelsea headmaster Graham Potter continues to be under fire from all directions in west London as the Blues remain locked in a frustrating 2022-23 campaign under the former highly-touted Brighton manager.

Despite the rampant spending perpetrated by club co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali to the tune of over £600m between the summer and winter windows this season, Potter has been unable to right the ship and make steps forward sufficiently enough to dig the capital side out of the rut where it currently resides.

Though the club’s spending habits are no fault of Potter’s, there are few left that can say he has done well enough with the pieces that he has been given, regardless of the prices that have been paid.

In that light, many fans have begun to call for Potter to face the ax on the back of the continued poor form, which recently shows a five-match winless run in the Premier League. As such, when German national team head coach Hansi Flick was recently spotted at Stamford Bridge, rumors began to swirl as to whether or not the former Bayern Munich manager had developed an interest in taking the reins should Potter not survive.

Flick’s tenure at Bayern was one of the most notable in all of the club’s history after the Heidelberg native accrued the best points average of any Bayern coach in the last decade, including being ahead of Pep Guardiola.

Germany has not had the same level of success under the 58-year-old thus far in the wake of another catastrophic showing at the World Cup, but regardless of the failed campaign in Qatar, the highly rated manager would be a key candidate for Chelsea ownership if any interest from his end was legitimate.
