Arsenal have been very active in the transfer market and are currently the highest spenders in the Premier League this summer.
Arsenal first secured a £65m move for Chelsea forward Kai Havertz. They then confirmed a £38.5m deal for Ajax centre-back Jurrien Timber.
And finally, they broke their club and British transfer record for Declan Rice, who joined for £100m plus £5m in add-ons.
However, it is fair to say Arsenal could still strengthen this summer, with cover for Bukayo Saka and another midfielder – if both Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka leave – the likely priorities.
And when quizzed on if there would be further signings at Arsenal in the weeks ahead or if attentions had now switched purely to exits, Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports: “Let’s see. There’s a lot of time still in the market and a lot of expectations in some of our players as well.
“We’ll have to see and how things develop in the next couple of weeks. We’ll be alert. There’s still time to do things and there’s still time for exits obviously. I’m sure things will move.”
