French giants Paris Saint-Germain have made a massive statement signing across a summer of considerable uncertainty surrounding star forward duo Kylian Mbappé and Neymar after the Parisians sealed a deal for Portuguese starlet Gonçalo Ramos.
Previous reports yesterday via Fabrizio Romano detailed PSG’s agreement with SL Benfica surrounding Ramos, which included a €65m fixed fee as well as €15m add-ons, with Ramos first arriving at the Parc des Princes on a loan move with an obligation to buy in the summer of 2024, which will aid in the club avoiding Financial Fair Play issues.

And the deal could not have come at a more opportune time as PSG look set to revamp their ideals surrounding squad building in the city of lights not only in the wake of Lionel Messi’s departure to Inter Miami but also the questions that continue to swell around the aforementioned star duo of Kylian Mbappé and Neymar.
Mbappé continues to train away from the senior squad after his refusal to sign a contract extension, with PSG ostracizing the face of French football on account of concerns that he has signed a pre-agreement with Real Madrid.
As for Neymar, reports earlier revealed that the Brazilian icon has told PSG he wants to depart the club this summer, which could see the French side lose all three of its star-studded forward triumvirate in just twelve months’ time.
For PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi, that would suit just fine on the back of turning over a new leaf with the acquisition of Ramos, after CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs relayed quotes from the club chief surrounding the deal.
