The Chelsea faithful have flooded to social media on Saturday evening, to call for an alteration to the club’s starting XI.
Thomas Tuchel’s troops, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
As part of the opening round of Premier League fixtures, the Blues made the trip to Goodison Park, for a meeting with club legend Frank Lampard’s Everton.
And, when all was said and done, Chelsea kicked their campaign into gear with a deserved three-point haul.
A hard-fought 90 minutes ultimately culminated in a 1-0 triumph for the visitors, courtesy of Jorginho’s spot-kick strike late in the first-half of action.
Evidently, though, many of a Chelsea persuasion, despite the eventual result, were left unimpressed by the display put forth by their side.
The player whom Chelsea’s supporters are keen to see dropped? Ben Chilwell.
His replacement? Marc Cucurella.
After sealing his Stamford Bridge switch from Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this week, wing-back Cucurella was introduced off the bench for his debut during the 2nd-half of action this evening.
And the Spanish international went on to thoroughly impress, culminating in widespread pleas for Cucurella to be utilised from the off when Chelsea face off with capital rivals Tottenham next weekend:
please start Cucurella ahead of Chilwell against Tottenham.
