The remarkable summer recruitment drive being enjoyed by Premier League newcomers Nottingham Forest could well be primed to continue, according to reports.

This comes with the powers that be at the City Ground having identified the club’s backline as being in need of imminent reinforcement.

Earlier this afternoon, word was forthcoming that Moussa Niakhate, a summer arrival expected to play a key role in Nottinghamshire over the course of the new season, is set for an extended spell on the sidelines.

The stopper has picked up a serious hamstring injury, which could keep him out of action for two months or more.

In turn, attentions have been cast back towards Molineux, amid the hunt for a potential Niakhate replacement.

As per a report from The Telegraph, Forest’s board have gone as far as to open fresh talks with their counterparts at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The latest player being eyed by the big-spending top-flight returnees? Willy Boly.

Evidently of the opinion that experienced stopper Boly represents a viable stop-gap solution to their concerns at centre-half, an opening offer of £1 million has been tabled.

Wolves, however, have thus far stood firm.

Negotiations, as a result, are expected to continue into the week ahead.
