Manchester United has been up for sale for several months now.

One of the names linked with the club has been Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, who is the chairman of one of Qatar’s biggest banks. He has confirmed his foundation will bid to buy Manchester United.

Sheikh Jassim’s Qatari consortium said: “The bid plans to return the club to its former glories.

“The bid will be completely debt free via Sheikh Jassim’s Nine Two Foundation, which will look to invest in the football teams, the training centre, the stadium and wider infrastructure, the fan experience and the communities the club supports.

“The vision of the bid is for Manchester United to be renowned for footballing excellence, and regarded as the greatest football club in the world.”

And now, an insight into how the club will run under Sheikh Jassim has been revealed. According to one Qatari source, he plans to introduce a global voting system that allows fans to vote on who the club should sign.
