Top clubs in the Premier League may have been presented with an avenue to add further attacking quality across the forward line come the opening of the January transfer window after La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have offered up one of their own.

Cunha, 23, arrived at the Wanda Metropolitano from Bundesliga outfit Hertha BSC during the 2021 summer transfer window after failing to make an impression in Berlin as well as in Saxony with RB Leipzig previously. The versatile forward, who scored 21 goals in 24 caps for Brazil’s U23 side has never hit the expected heights on the continent after first arriving in Switzerland with FC Sion where he shone for the Super League outfit before earning a move to RBL in 2018.
Having scored just 6 goals in 40 La Liga appearances under Simeone, who prefers utilizing a front three of João Félix, Antoine Griezmann, and Ángel Correa, Cunha is on the periphery and able to leave on a loan in January with a possible option to buy in the future and could offer an interesting attacking option for a number of clubs that may struggle to find value in the mid-season market.
Other Premier League clubs have actively expressed interest in Cunha as well with Aston Villa, Everton, and Leeds United all tuned in to a possible signing, while Wolves under Julen Lopetegui are said to be the keenest of those gathering in the queue as they are also eyeing up a possible move for Atléti defender Felipe.
Wolves certainly boast the greatest need of all involved given their sitting bottom of the league with just eight goals on record come the extended international break, but given Cunha’a previous exchanges at various clubs, it is likely that his prime aim will be to secure maximum time on the pitch which certainly may narrow down the club of his choice.
