A long-time member of the midfield setup at French champions Paris Saint-Germain has agreed on the terms of a contract with Saudi giants Al Hilal, according to reports.

The player in question? Marco Verratti.

The subject of Al Hilal’s European transfer market raid has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Paris across the week to date.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the Saudi Pro League outfit, who have already added the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to their ranks this summer, had set their sights on an ambitious move for Kylian Mbappe.

Despite offering up an eye-watering financial package to the World Cup winner, the board at the The King Fahd Stadium were ultimately rebuffed, but this has not put a stop to their raid on Luis Enrique’s PSG squad.

After confirmation was forthcoming that negotiations had been opened with the entourage of Italian international Marco Verratti, just days on, Al Hilal have struck gold once more.

Al Hilal, in turn, will soon return with an improved bid for his services, after seeing an opening proposal worth €30 million turned down by Nasser Al Khelaifi and co.

Confidence is high, though, that a deal will ultimately be struck.
