Seasoned Spanish manager Rafa Benítez is once again back on the touchline as the 63-year-old former Champions League winner takes up the managerial vacancy with RC Celta de Vigo after the summer departure of Carlos Carvalhal.
Benítez, who was last posted at Everton for six months during the 2021-22 campaign, has been mulling over his next port of call recently and was even considering a move to Leicester City before ultimately opting to head to Galicia.

Despite finishing 13th in the La Liga table in 2022-23 and boasting some serious talent in the likes of veteran goalscorer Iago Aspas and midfield starlet Gabri Veiga, Celta were only three points outside of the bottom three in a season that came down to the wire, and the hope will no doubt be that Benítez’s wealth of experience will serve them in good stead in regards to pushing up the table last term.
Benítez may contend with the possible loss of Veiga this summer given the serious interest surrounding the Spanish youngster, and certainly, his guiding hand could come in handy to offer stability in the wake of possible turmoil.
