Jesus started in Brazil’s last World Cup group game vs Cameroon but picked up an injury in the process.

It has since been revealed that the striker is out for the rest of the World Cup and also looks set to miss some games for Arsenal.

Some sources suggest that Jesus is out for a month, meaning a return in early January, but some have claimed three months, which would be a huge blow for Arsenal.

And it seems that the time frame of the striker’s injury will impact the Gunners’ transfer plans heading into January.

As per the Evening Standard, Jesus is in London to see a knee specialist after being forced to withdraw from Brazil’s World Cup squad.

They add that Mikel Arteta is already light on striking options, with Eddie Nketiah the only backup to Jesus, and the Gunners will be tempted to strengthen as they are currently five points clear at the top of the Premier League.

However, if Jesus is out for a long period, that priority could change.

Arteta and sporting director Edu have been with Arsenal’s owner Stan Kroenke over the weekend as part of a pre-arranged trip to the USA and the injury to Jesus is likely to have been discussed.
