Sterling left Manchester City this past summer for Chelsea, looking to earn more regular football ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
So far, this has worked out, with Sterling starting all eight of Chelsea’s games in 2022/23.
In those eight games, he has scored four and assisted one, making him Chelsea’s top scorer in all competitions.
And now, Bacary Sanga has heaped praise on Sterling, labelling him Chelsea’s best player:
“I think he has had a good start to his Chelsea career,” Sagna said. “It couldn’t have been easy for him with all the changes, but he has been Chelsea’s best player so far in my opinion.
“He is back in London, where he grew up. It must be nice for him to be back in his home city with his friends and family, performing well for his club.
“He will be happy with the move because now he can play week in, week out. Players want to play every week to improve and find form – he is one of them. He needs momentum. At City he wasn’t given this opportunity.”
Chelsea and Sterling will be back in league action on Saturday when they face a trip top Crystal Palace.
