An insight into the plans of the powers that be at Premier League giants Chelsea for recent signing David Fofana has been provided late on Sunday.
Hitman Fofana, of course, made the move to west London during the January transfer window.
Amid an eye-watering mid-season splurge courtesy of new owner Todd Boehly, Fofana linked up with Chelsea from Norwegian giants Molde, in a deal understood to have been worth a fee in the region of €13 million.
Upon his arrival, initially, being made official, the widespread assumption was that the Ivorian, at just 20 years of age, would swiftly be farmed out on loan to garner first-team experience in one of Europe’s top leagues.
This, however, has since not proven to be the case.
In fact, Fofana has already been afforded a pair of appearances by new boss Graham Potter, the latter of which saw the youngster come agonisingly close to bagging an all-important winner in a derby meeting with Fulham this past Friday.

This came amid suggestions that the Blues’ board were in negotiations with their counterparts at Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray, over the terms of a loan deal through the summer.
The chances of such a move actually coming to fruition, however, in fact appear slim to nine.
As confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano late on Sunday night, Chelsea are not currently engaged in talks with Galatasaray over Fofana.
Instead, the Ivorian international is expected to stay put in London for the remainder of the term.
