Lionel Messi won the 2022 World Cup at the end of last year to cap off what has been a sensational career.
His attention has since turned to PSG and their hunt for another league title and their first-ever Champions League, with the latter now over for another campaign.
However, after this season, at the time of writing, Lionel Messi will become a free agent.
This has caused much speculation online, with the likes of FC Barcelona and Manchester City already tipped to make a move for the diminutive Argentine.
And now, as per Achraf Ben Ayad, Barcelona will hand Messi the No. 10 shirt back should he complete a sensational return from PSG before next season.
Messi wore the No. 10 jersey at Barcelona from 2008/09 up until his exit in 2021 and ensured that the shirt achieved iconic status.
As for the financial side of the deal, whilst paying Messi’s full wages will be an issue, reports suggest that Barca could offer him a deal worth €10m per year and offer a percentage of any commercial profit the club achieves from his return, such as shirt sales, sponsorship, and so on.
