Erling Haaland joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund last summer after a sensational few years in Germany.
After signing for Man City, there was some doubt over Haaland’s ability to perform at the same level in the Premier League, and his ability to work under Pep Guardiola, who is famous for not being too keen on your typical no.9s.
However, those doubts were very much put to bed this season when Haaland scored 52 and assisted nine in 53 outings.
The Norweigan smashed the Premier League goals record in four fewer games, whilst also netting 12 in 11 Champions League outings.
Now, after playing a crucial role in Man City completing the treble, the president of the Manchester outfit has revealed what Haaland told him after he signed his contract with City.
Khaldoon Al Mubarak said on Erling Haaland: “Post signing your contract with your chairman saying, ‘Mr chairman, I’m going to win the Champions League for you. I’m here to win the Champions League for Manchester City, we’re going to win it,’ is really a testament to the greatness of this player.
