As 101 covered earlier on Tuesday, Liverpool are willing to let Thiago leave next summer for free rather than sell the midfielder this summer, it has emerged, after he has become the latest star to reject an offer from Saudi Arabia.
Now though, Al-Ettifaq have listed Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson as a potential target after the Saudi Arabian club confirmed the arrival of Steven Gerrard as their new manager on Monday.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also a target alongside the Reds captain but it remains to be seen if an offer is presented to both Premier League stars.
Jordan Henderson is under contract with Liverpool until the summer of 2025. But with the midfielder now 33 years of age and past his best, the Reds may be wise to cash on him now for a fee they will not get in two years’ time when Henderson is 35.
Henderson joined Liverpool from Sunderland in 2011 and has since become their captain, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.
Liverpool’s midfield, though, is undergoing a transformation this summer, with two players already signed and a third expected through the door before the August deadline.
