RC Lens fan-favorite Seko Fofana has officially joined a growing summer exodus from Europe after agreeing to a move to Roshn Saudi League outfit Al-Nassr.
The 28-year-old Ivorian international became an integral puzzle piece at Stade Bollaert-Delelis for three years, helping Lens immediately reestablish itself in the top flight of French football while so nearly pipping Paris Saint-Germain to a Ligue 1 title in 2022-23.
But despite having two years left on his current terms in the former mining and industrial center, Fofana has instead sought to head toward budding football pastures in the Gulf Kingdom to join one of the nation’s big four outfits.

According to football insider Fabrizio Romano, Fofana has already completed his medical in Portugal ahead of a move to Al-Awwal Park that will see him join up with Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcelo Brozović, fellow Ivorian international Ghislain Konan, and David Ospina.
Lens is set to receive roughly €25m-€30m from Al-Nassr per Romano’s report, with popular Les Sang et Or manager Franck Haise having already done well to mobilize the club’s financial resources to pre-emptively replace Fofana with French U21 international midfielder Andy Diouf from FC Basel.
The Ligue 1 runner-up has also bid farewell to 2022-23 leading goalscorer Loïs Openda after the Belgian international completed a €43m move to Bundesliga upstarts RB Leipzig.
