An update on the ongoing efforts of Italian heavyweights AC Milan to lure Japhet Tanganga to the club from Tottenham Hotspur has been provided on Sunday.
Defender Tanganga, it is understood, has been identified as a potential addition to Stefano Pioli’s squad ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
This comes with Milan in need of fresh blood at centre-half, and having been forced to move onto alternative targets on the back of first-choice option Sven Botman sealing a move to Newcastle United.
Inspired by the success enjoyed by Fikayo Tomori across his stint in Italy to date, the Serie A champions are therefore keen to take a punt on another once so highly-regarded English stopper.

Negotiations between the two clubs, in turn, have long been kicked into gear.
And now, as alluded to above, an insight into the status of such talks has been provided online.
Initially, Tanganga would be primed to link up with Milan on loan for the season ahead. Spurs, though, are understood to have inserted an obligation to buy as part of the agreement.
And yet, the 23-year-old could find himself plying his trade back in north London at some point down the line, with Fabio Paratici and co. also in the process of negotiating the terms of a buyback clause.
Elsewhere, the Rossoneri are also keen on a loan swoop for another member of Antonio Conte’s squad, in the form of midfield starlet Pape Matar Sarr.
