The mother of Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has, on Saturday, taken to social media to showcase her support for her under-fire son.
For those who may somehow have missed it, veteran attacker Ronaldo dropped nothing short of a bombshell on not only United, but a host of individuals associated with the club, too, last weekend.
In comments provided during an interview with presenter Piers Morgan, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner slammed the Red Devils, boss Erik ten Hag, club icon Wayne Rooney, and more.
Ronaldo’s comments regarding Ten Hag sparked particularly heavy backlash, after the Portuguese point blank admitted that he boasts no respect for his current manager:
“I don’t have respect for Erik ten Hag because he doesn’t show respect for me.”
“If you don’t have respect for me, I will never have any for you”.

The individual in question? Dolores Aveiro.
To this point, Ronaldo’s mother had bitten her tongue when it comes to both the heavily maligned attacker’s criticism of Manchester United, and the ensuing backlash across the football world.
On Saturday evening, though, Aveiro broke her silence, in sharing a series of quotes on the part of Portuguese journalist and writer Luis Osorio on her official Instagram account.
The comments in question backed Ronaldo in no uncertain terms, whilst tearing into Erik ten Hag as little more than a ‘miserable footnote in football history’:
“As far as the Dutchman who has managed you in these last few months goes, I just want to laugh.”
“How can you compare what you are to a miserable footnote in football history!”
“As Alberto Joao Jardim says, tell him to ‘f*** off’. I know you already have but it’s worth reiterating.”
