The league leaders of Serie A are back in action this weekend with Atalanta heading back to Bergamo after an easy win on the road against the helpless Monza as the club faces off with another newly-promoted side in Cremonese.
If the game last weekend was anything to go by in this one, Atalanta should win with relative ease. The club had six shots on target in the win over Monza and despite not having much of the ball, they had most of the chances. Rasmus Hojlund scored for Atalanta that day, with an own goal from Monza rounding off a 2-0 win away from home for the Bergamo side.
Atalanta have also managed to beat Torino in the past 10 days, with a midweek 3-1 victory over the Turin side rocketing them ahead of Napoli and into first after five games in Serie A. Now, off the back of the likes of Napoli, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Roma and Juventus all playing in Europe, Atalanta come into this one fresher than anybody.
Cremonese are still winless in Serie A since earning promotion into the top flight. A 3-1 loss to Inter two weeks back likely show how this game could go, and with them drawing 0-0 with Sassuolo last time out, there isn’t much hope of a win coming their way any time soon.
Atalanta should win here and stay top of Serie A as a result, and with no European jet lag to deal with, they should get all three points quite convincingly here.
