Match Preview
Atalanta will take on Torino in Bergamo this Thursday evening with the Gian Piero Gasperini’s sitting sixth and one place above the Turin outfit ahead of the game as they come into the game with the same record after three games.
Atalanta have looked back to their best at points in the season, but still, they sit with just three goals scored and are not scoring goals at the capacity they once did. The Bergamo outfit kicked things off with a 2-0 victory over Sampdoria, as Ademola Lookman scored a debut Serie A goal after Rafael Toloi’s opening goal.
Atalanta drew with AC Milan just two weeks ago as well, where despite leading, an equaliser from the champions forced a 1-1 draw. The club then edged past Hellas Verona last weekend when Teun Koopmeniners scored a goal in the second half to seal a 1-0 win.
As for Torino, they have also drawn one and one the other two, but considering they narrowly defeated two newly-promoted sides in Cremonese and Monza, there is not that much to shout about. Nikola Vlasic and Nemanja Radonjic scored in the win over Cremonese, while Aleksei Miranchuk and Antonio Sanabria bagged one each against Monza.
A 0-0 draw with Lazio two weeks back keeps Torino unbeaten in Serie A, but with questions also above their head. Atalanta will be confident heading into this one and there is hope circling Bergamo once more that they are back to their best a little bit.
