Foundering Premier League giant Tottenham could be set to receive yet another boost across the summer transfer window as Spurs close in on completing a deal for highly-touted VfL Wolfsburg center-back Micky Van de Ven.
Per football insider Fabrizio Romano, both clubs are now in the final stages of negotiations surrounding the 22-year-old Dutch U21 international, and though some details are said to remain, Van de Ven has already agreed personal terms with the club.

Ahead of a 2023-24 Premier League campaign that sees Spurs without European football after finishing 8th last season, new boss Ange Postecoglou can view this as an ideal period to bed in his identity into the club on and off the pitch, but Spurs securing a center-back remains of vital importance given the lack of real quality in depth in the position.
Tottenham has done well to complete deals for James Maddison, Pedro Porro, Dejan Kulusevski, Guglielmo Vicario, and Manor Solomon for a combined ~£120m, but the capital side is still bereft of sufficient talent in the heart of the back four.
At current, Postecoglou can call on Argentina stalwart Cristian Romero in good faith, but beyond the World Cup winner, Spurs’ depth in the position comes down to Eric Dier, Davinson Sánchez, Joe Rodon, and Japhet Tanganga.
Should terms be finalized for the Wormer-born Van de Ven, it is likely that the former FC Volendam academy graduate will slot into the back four almost immediately once fully fit.
