Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly been told that he has to sell Harry Kane this summer with owner Joe Lewis not keen to lose the striker for nothing next summer.

England’s captain is currently on Tottenham’s pre-season tour but has been the subject of significant interest from both Manchester United and German giants Bayern Munich already this summer, while PSG are also thought to be monitoring the situation.

Kane is out of contract next summer, and though Daniel Levy is determined not to sell him to a Premier League rival, the striker leaving the club is not out of the question.

According to the Times, ‘Kane does not plan to sign a new contract regardless of what happens in this transfer window’, which has left Spurs considering cashing in on him in order to help fund Ange Postecoglu’s new additions.

Now, the Telegraph add that ‘Spurs owner Joe Lewis is understood to have informed Levy he is not prepared to let Kane run down his contract and leave as a free agent next summer.’

As a result, it is claimed that ‘if Levy cannot convince the striker to extend his deal, Lewis will expect the club to sell rather than forgo a huge fee’, and will officially put Kane up for sale.

They may, however, be in a one-horse race, with Manchester United having already shelled out £100m this summer and unlikely to be able to shell that out again for Kane, unless several major and at present unlikely sales were made.

Kane himself has been house hunting in Bavaria, further suggesting that a move may finally be coming to a head for the Englishman.
