Tottenham have made Jordan Pickford their no.1 summer target despite the England no.1 having signed a new contract on Merseyside just last month, it has been reported.
Hugo Lloris, currently out injured, is now well beyond his peak and, out of contract in 2024, is not expected to be the Spurs no.1 next season, with Tottenham making a new goalkeeper their priority this summer.
And, as per the Sun, Everton shot-stopper Jordan Pickford is their no.1 choice to take over from the World Cup winner.
Pickford was due to be out of contract in 2024, and that combined with relegation had opened the possibility of him being available at a cut price in the summer, with his ability to play out from defence seen as a major improvement for both sides, while his homegrown status was also a plus.
However, he has since penned a new deal keeping him at Goodison Park until 2028, seemingly ruling out a move away this summer.
The Toffees shot-stopper has appeared over 200 times for Everton since arriving from Sunderland in 2017 for £30m, and played a big role in keeping his side in the Premier League last season.
A 1-0 win over Brentford on Saturday reduced the likelihood of this, with Sean Dyche’s side now 15th and two points clear of the relegation zone, though they remain in the mix for dropping into the Championship in what is shaping up to be a massive relegation race.
