England midfielder Declan Rice has claimed that England are a team to be feared following their comprehensive win over African champions Senegal in the round of 16.
Gareth Southgate’s side came through a tricky test against Senegal comfortable 3-0 winners courtesy of first-half goals from Jordan Henderson and Harry Kane, before Bukayo Saka added a third just before the hour mark to set up a tantalising quarter-final tie with France on Saturday evening.

And, speaking after the win, England midfielder Rice revealed that he still doesn’t think that his side get enough credit for their ability and just how much of a tough test they will be for anyone that they come up against.
“I don’t think we get the credit we deserve in our performances,” said the West Ham and England midfielder
“If you look at other teams, like the Netherlands and Argentina, they win their games comfortably and they get called ‘masterclasses’.
“With us, it always gets picked off. The negative things always come that way. If you look at the last couple of games, it’s been faultless. I think countries should be starting to fear us now because we’re a great team.”
“There was a lot of scrutiny around the defence and conceding goals, but it’s been solid. We’re going to keep building and pushing.”
The Three Lions began the tournament as fourth favourites to lift the trophy, but will have to beat France, another pre-tournament favourites, to ensure that their run in Qatar lasts another week.
