Match preview
Two sides battling relegation this season in Serie A will clash as Cremonese and Sampdoria meet in the relegation zone after 10 games in the league as both teams are yet to win a single game in the league so far.
Cremonese are the worst defensive side in Serie A right now having conceded 21 goals already. Napoli beat them 4-1 just two weeks back, before Lazio inflicted more misery with a 4-0 win just before the international break. Worse yet for the club, they lost both of those games on their own turf. Cremonese did, however, manage to pick a point against Spezia recently as they led the game in the first half before falling behind, just before a Charles Pickel equaliser.
The newly-promoted side did manage to defeat Modena in their Coppa Italia midweek clash last time out, as they won 4-2 at home. Sampdoria, on the other hand, struggled again to win their game and edged their penalty shootout in a spectacular 9-8 scoreline after drawing 2-2 with Ascoli.
Cremonese have also managed to rack up four draws and six losses compared to the three draws and seven defeats of Sampdoria, meaning they are just one point above the Genoa side in Serie A.
The other draws this season have seen them take points from Sassuolo and Lecce in Serie A, but with them drawing with title contenders, Atalanta, they remain one of only three teams able to do so after 10 games.
Sampdoria, however, have scored jsut five goals so far in Serie A as they lost only narrowly to Roma in their last game 1-0. Prior to this, they drew 1-1 with Bologna. However, in losing 3-0 to Monza at the start of the month, no side across Europe’s top five leagues is in worse form.
