Declan Rice signed for Arsenal this past summer in a British record deal of £100m plus £5m in add-ons.
Rice has since linked up with Arsenal for the 2023/24 campaign and his time at Arsenal has started well.
Arsenal faced off with Manchester United before the international break and Rice scored an injury-time winner to secure the three points for his new side.
It has only been four games, but Rice is already a very popular figure among the Arsenal fanbase.
And now, the midfielder has revealed the joke Mikel Arteta played on him during his first day with Arsenal.
Rice said: “I was a bit nervous – the first day [at Arsenal], I was down there on the Sunday, the lads weren’t in but I come out of the physio room & Arteta, just like little things he does, he put like a sticker on my chest saying, ‘Hello, I’m the new person’. All the under-18s & under-21s are in the canteen & I’m walking through trying to hide my chest.”
