In one of the more interesting stories of the summer so far, Liverpool saw themselves linked with a move for PSG and France star, Kylian Mbappe.
Marco Kirdemir, a FIFA Agent, spoke out about Mbappe and his future recently, stating: “There will be news over the next week. We will have news from England and Germany.
“I have spoken with people close to the Qatari family who run the club and they have told me that they are very angry. They wanted and had the confidence that he [Mbappe] was going to renew. The Emir is very upset.”
He added: “Liverpool is competing with Real Madrid and wants to pay a fortune for Mbappé.”
Given Liverpool stopped trying to sign Jude Bellingham earlier this year because he was too expensive, them trying to sign Mbappe, who is sure to cost a world-record fee even with one year left on his contract, seemed rather strange.
And now, Fabrizio Romano has all but put those rumours to bed with his latest update:
“Nothing has changed for Mbappe, PSG have been very clear: sign new deal or leave the club this summer, this is PSG’s position for the last two weeks.”
