Premier League giants Arsenal look set for an imminent funds boost, owing to mounting interest in an out-of-favour member of the club’s defensive ranks.
The player inching towards a move to Italy? Pablo Mari.
Stopper Mari, of course, spent the 2nd half of this past season out on loan in Serie A, enjoying a productive stint en route to 15 starts with Udinese.
With the Friulani having ultimately opted against making the Spaniard’s arrival permanent, though, Mari has since returned to north London.
Fellow central defender William Saliba’s return to base with Mikel Arteta’s troops, though, meant that Mari remaining a part of the setup at the Emirates for the season ahead always looked unlikely.
In turn, it should come as little surprise, on Monday, to hear of developments towards an imminent exit.
Fellow Italian outfit Hellas Verona too remain keen on the 28-year-old, but it is Monza, as things stand, who are viewed as clear frontrunners to secure Mari’s services this summer.
