Former Bayern Munich president and current club board member Uli Hoeneß has given the latest update surrounding the Bundesliga giants’ pursuit of the face of star England and Tottenham striker Harry Kane as the future of the 28-year-old continues to remain in the balance across the current summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old goalscoring record holder remains on the fence regarding his immediate future at club level as his contract with Tottenham enters its final year, while Spurs chairman Daniel Levy insists that the England man is not for sale.

Kane, who has a chance to suss out the situation in the English capital after the arrival of Ange Postecoglou from Glasgow Celtic, is reportedly happy to keep his options open this summer before sitting down to possibly come to terms over an extension at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, according to Hoeneß, Bayern remains in the hunt for Kane on the back of established dialogue between the club and the player.

Hoeneß continued; “Harry Kane now wants to play in European competitions. Tottenham won’t be there next season, we will be there”. He has another chance to join a top European club.”

“What we really liked about Harry Kane is his agents, his father, brother…they’re very pleasant people”. So far Kane’s camp always stood by their promise. If that stays the case, then it’s okay.”
