Premier League giants Manchester United remain heavily active in the summer transfer market in the run-up to deadline day after the Red Devils closed a deal for Sergio Reguilón while edging closer to a late move for Moroccan star Sofyan Amrabat.
Erik ten Hag has finally secured a temporary solution at left-back after Luke Shaw’s untimely injury, while a desperately needed acquisition at defensive midfielder appears close according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

Reguilón has reportedly completed his medical before swapping London for Manchester on a season-long loan that includes a break clause during the January transfer window, while United will dodge having to pay a loan fee but also have not pushed for a buy option in the clause. As such, the Red Devils are covering the full cost of the Spanish defender’s wages during his tenure at Old Trafford.
As for Amrabat, reports from Mario Cortegana detail the club closing on the Moroccan midfielder, bringing to an end the imbalance in the current senior squad that is bereft of another option as a true deep-sitting midfielder after Casemiro has seemingly fallen off in his performance levels.
That absence has been fully on display this season under Ten Hag, particularly on matchday one during their narrow 1-0 win over Wolves after the likes of Matheus Cunha ran rampant through the middle of the park in a performance that United simply had no answer to.
Should Amrabat also arrive at the Theatre of Dreams, Ten Hag should have plenty of pieces to get the club firing on all cylinders.
