It’s the biggest game of the season for both Cremonese and Hellas Verona in Serie A this weekend as two sides sitting in the relegation zone aim to give themselves the boost they so desperately need on Monday night at the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium.
Once again, Cremonese failed to win a game last time out and although they were not expected to pick up all three points at home to Juventus, it has now extended an already record-breaking run to 16 games without a victory in Serie A.
Despite this awful run, the club are still ahead of Verona by one point, having drawn seven times compared to their three. Verona have, however, at least won one game this season and scored two more goals (13) than Cremonese’s 11.
Last time out, Salvatore Bocchetti’s men drew 1-1 with Torino away from home as Milan Duric opened the scoring meaning Verona left Turin with just their sixth point of the season.
Now, with Cremonese just one point clear of Verona, the loser of this game is set to crash into last place in Serie A. Simply put, it’s the biggest game of the season for the two.
