A stellar evening for all associated with a Tottenham Hotspur outfit fresh off booking their spot in the FA Cup’s fifth round has continued into the final hours of Saturday.
This comes amid widespread reports that, at long last, the capital outfit have sealed a deal for chief transfer target Pedro Porro.
Recent weeks have of course seen it widely speculated that Porro, formerly of Manchester City, has piqued the attentions of the powers that be at Spurs, owing to his starring displays in Portugal with Sporting CP.
This comes as Antonio Conte and co. continue to seek out reinforcements at right-wing back, amid the struggles of Emerson Royal and the forgotten Djed Spence.
Negotiations, in turn, have long been kicked into gear between the respective boards at Tottenham and Sporting CP.
To this point, the former had been left altogether frustrated, though, amid Sporting’s insistence that the club’s star full-back’s release clause be paid in full.
As confirmed by a host of reliable outlets, a definitive agreement has been struck, to send Porro to north London on a permanent basis this month.
Portuguese sources point towards a hefty €48 million fee as being in play, a full €3 million higher than the defender’s release clause.
This is likely to come as a result of Daniel Levy and co. pushing to spread the payment out over a lengthier period.
Porro, in turn, is expected in England on Sunday, ahead of putting pen to paper on a contract with Tottenham through the summer of 2028.
