Will this be the start of another memorable Scottish Cup run for Inverness Caledonian Thistle?

Caley Thistle won this trophy in 2015, beating Falkirk, also featuring in the 2019 semi-finals, when they were ousted by Hearts.

Billy Dodds’ side began their latest cup adventure with a 3-2 victory over Stirling Albion in November; Wallace Duffy, Max Ram and Aaron Doran getting the goals.

More important than a cup run is promotion for Inverness, who’ve been rooted in the second-tier for six seasons now.

The Caley Jags currently sit sixth in the Championship, three points below the play-offs, after a goalless draw with the league-leaders last weekend.

Here, Inverness are currently unbeaten in six Scottish Cup home matches, looking to make that seven.

The Spiders’ recent rise has been truly astonishing, picking up the League Two title in 2021, before going up via the League One play-offs 12 months later.

If Owen Coyle’s team do gain promotion to the Premiership this time round, it would truly be a sporting miracle.

Before resuming their promotion push in Dundee next Saturday, assuming Dens Park’s pitch gets sorted by then, Queen’s Park will be targeting a rare appearance in the fifth round of this competition.

The Spiders are ten-times winners of the Scottish Cup, although all of those came between 1874 and 1893.

Having overcome Peterhead in round three, their seeking to get into the fifth round for the first time since 2009.

So, seven days on from a goalless draw at Caledonian Stadium, there must be a winner this time.
