Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has, on Thursday, responded to the bizarre recent criticism directed at assistant Jason Tindall.
For those who may have missed it, Magpies assistant manager Tindall has taken his place centre stage on ‘football Twitter’ across the week to date.
This comes as the former AFC Bournemouth boss finds himself increasingly accused of ‘attention-seeking’ antics on Tyneside.
In fact, after a photo of Tindall beating the aforementioned Howe to the handshake of Arsenal headmaster Mikel Arteta last weekend was posted online, a Twitter account with the title ‘Jason Tindall desperate to be the centre of attention’ saw its popularity soar.

Speaking to CBS Sports on Thursday, the subject of his right-hand man’s sudden infamy was therefore put to none other than Eddie Howe.
The English tactician, though, was unsurprisingly keen to play the subject down, assuring that he ‘encourages’ Tindall to ‘be that way’:
“We’re both very active on the sidelines, so I’ve encouraged Jason to be that way. We were very much a partnership when we first started in management and we try to do everything we can to help the players.
“I think we’re situated together on the front there and at the end of the game he naturally makes his way over, because he’s usually to my left (closest to the opposing manager).
“So, no, he’s a great guy and he’s been brilliant for me this year.”
