Inter Milan will be looking to bounce back immediately from their disastrous loss to Lazio in Rome over the weekend with the 2020/21 champions playing hosts to the newly-promoted Cremonese this Tuesday evening.
It’s been a topsy-turvy start to the new campaign for Inter, and after Romelu Lukaku scored just two minutes into his return against Lecce, the club looked like making an immediate impact on the title race on the opening weekend. A late winner from Denzel Dumfries saw them win 2-1 that day.
Despite winning so narrowly against Lecce, by beating Spezia 3-0 just a week later, they reminded the rest of the league what they have to offer this season. Lautaro Martinez, Hakan Calhanoglu and Joaquin Correa all scored in the win that game.
However, in losing 3-1 to Lazio just a few days later, Inter have tasted a loss already and were handed a reality check in their race for the title. Maritnez did net an equaliser in that fixture, but after a stunner from Luis Alberto and a third from Pedro, Inter left Rome with nothing to shout about.
Cremonese have restarted their Serie A campaign with three defeats already in the league, with them having conceded six goals and scored three. The club did only narrowly lose to Roma and Torino, and with a 3-2 loss to Fiorentina as well, it’s not like the newly-promoted side have lost all three games by a huge margin.
