An update on the ongoing efforts of Premier League outfit West Ham United to reinforce the club’s frontline ahead of next season has been provided on Thursday evening.

Securing fresh blood up top has, of course, emerged as something of a priority at the London Stadium with a view to the 2022/23 campaign.

This comes with the Irons having been altogether overly reliant on main man Michail Antonio last time out, lacking any reliable backup option to the Jamaican international.

Until recently, the hitman most widely tipped to link up with David Moyes’ troops this summer, of course, had been Armando Broja.

Amid suggestions that Thomas Tuchel has personally intervened to ensure that the Albanian talent remains on Chelsea’s books for the time being, though, the powers that be at West Ham have been forced to turn their attentions elsewhere.

And now, as alluded to above, the first-choice alternative on the part of Moyes and co. has been revealed.

Such efforts have led the transfer team at the London Stadium to go as far as tabling an opening offer for the Sassuolo standout, understood to have exceeded the €40 million mark.

‘Positive discussions’, in turn, are currently underway between the two clubs.
