West Ham United have made another move to sign Lucas Paquetá after they saw their opening offer for the midfielder rejected.
The Hammers are attempting to complete an audacious deal to sign the highly rated Brazilian.
This morning reports from France claimed that Lyon had rejected an offer of €50 million, but the east London club have now made an improved bid.
West Ham’s latest Paquetá bid
West Ham have submitted a second bid of €57 million for Paquetá, according to L’Équipe.
Lyon are yet to respond, but the positions of the two clubs are getting closer.
The French club’s asking price is €60 million, which could mean they are likely to accept the Hammers’ new offer.
“After having made an initial proposal of nearly €50 million yesterday, an offer refused by OL, West Ham returned to the charge this Thursday morning.”
The east London club’s latest offer consists of €42 million in cash, and €15 million in bonuses which are easily attainable.
