Match preview

Two of the newly-promoted sides will meet here as Lecce welcome Cremonese to the Stadio Via de Mare off the back of registering their first win of the season with the away side still yet to win in Serie A this campaign.

Cremonese are one of two sides (Sampdoria) who have failed to win a game so far this season. Ahead of this game, they only sit ahead of Sampdoria at the bottom of the table bu the fact they have conced one more goal, with both sides having a terrible defensive record and just two points on the board.

The club’s two points came in a 1-1 draw against Atalanta and a 0-0 draw with Sassuolo in back-to-back games. A 4-0 hammering at the hands of Lazio threw them straight back into the losing column, however.

Lecce, on the other hand, finally got a win under their belt last time out by beating Salernitana 2-1 thanks to goals from Gabriel Strefezza and Assan Ceesay. It has now thrown the club into 15th and out of the drop zone, but with only six goals scored from seven games and just one win, there is still a lot to be worried about if you’re a Lecce fan.

They are still, however, on a two-game unbeaten run and have actually only lost once in their past five games. Lecce drew 1-1 with Napoli, Empoli and Lecce in this time, losing only to Torino and of course, beating Salernitana for the first time win of the season.
