Match preview

The league leaders are back in action this weekend in Serie A as Napoli welcome Torino to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium with the first-placed side unbeaten after a stunning win over AC Milan last time out.

It’s been a wild few years in Serie A. However, this campaign is springing more surprises than ever with Napoli now top of the table after seven games, unbeaten in doing so, and also now coming into this game after registering a sensational win away to the champions Milan. Matteo Politano scored from the spot that day, as Giovanni Simeone also scored in the second half to cancel out an Oliver Giroud equaliser.

Napoli’s only dropped points this season have come in a 0-0 draw with Fiorentina and a 1-1 draw with Lecce. The club have, however, since gone on to beat Lazio in Rome, smash Liverpool 4-1, Rangers 3-0, and register a 1-0 win over Spezia and that recent 2-1 win at the San Siro.

Torino are coming into this one in the midst of their worst run of form this season after what was a solid beginning to the campaign. In fact, the Turin side have won just two of their past six games by defeating Lecce and Cremonese in this time, losing to Atalanta, Inter Milan and Sassuolo most recently. A 0-0 draw with Lazio has also come within this run.

Napoli look like the real deal here this season, despite losing so many key figures in the summer. They will be hoping to remain unbeaten here against a tricky Torino side.
