Man United face off with Thomas Frank’s Brentford at 5:30 pm UK this coming Saturday.

Ahead of the tie, Ten Hag discussed a number of topics in his press conference, including team news. The former Ajax boss confirmed Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof remain out: “It’s still the same,” he told MUTV of their injury situation after they both missed the Brighton defeat.

He also provided an update on Cristiano Ronaldo: “So he had a good training week, I thought he played a little bit longer than half an hour, he’s had two half games and for the starting XI we will see tomorrow. My decision, I keep it.”

Ten Hag was then asked about potential incomings this summer: “I’m happy, I think we’re cooperating really well, I cannot tell about any individuals, I cannot talk about players under contract at other clubs.”

On Marcus Rashford, who was linked with PSG on Thursday, Ten Hag added: “He’s a really important player, you have seen from the first day I’m here, I’m really happy with him, I don’t want to lose him, he’s definitely in our plans at Manchester United.”

Brentford vs Manchester United

Manchester United head into the Brentford game looking to bounce back from a majorly embarrassing defeat in gameweek 1.

United have also not signed any new players since that defeat, so the Dutchman will have to work his magic with the current crop of players, a number of which looked awful vs Brighton.

As for Brentford, they began their season by drawing 2-2 with Leicester City.
