Match preview

In what is perhaps the biggest game of the season across Europe this weekend, Roma will welcome Napoli to the Stadio Olimpico as we get another massive insight into how this dramatic title race in Serie A could unfold.

With Juventus and Inter Milan sitting seventh and eighth, respectively, the likes of Napoli, AC Milan, Roma and Lazio are all in the top five and we are no doubt set to see one of the craziest title races unfold. For Roma, this game feels like a must-win if they are to stamp down their marker on a Serie A title challenge, as they have already lost to sixth-placed Udinese, drew with Juventus and lost to Atalanta.

Jose Mourinho did guide his side to a dramatic win at the San Siro over his old side, Inter Milan, but as of now, the former Chelsea boss sees his side in fourth and now four points behind the league leaders Napoli and one point behind the champions, AC Milan.

As for Napoli, they have barely dropped a point all season long across the board, and in truth, only Arsenal in the Premier League can boast of a similar record to them across Europe’s top five leagues. In fact, unlike the Gunners they have not lost a game and have drawn twice in Serie A and won every fixture in the Champions League.

It’s no doubt going to be a thriller, and the main question will be answered on Sunday: can Napoli’s incredible attack beat the defensive excellence of Roma?
