Will Aberdeen’s impressive form continue?

On Tuesday night, the Dons, eventually, ousted League Two Annan Athletic in the League Cup.

In truth, they did need extra time, but goals in the additional half hour from Luís Lopes, Vicente Besuijen and Leighton Clarkson saw Aberdeen progress at Galabank.

The 2014 League Cup winners will hosts second-tier Partick Thistle in the quarter-finals, with a place at Hampden up for grabs.

Back in the Premiership, Jim Goodwin’s side have now won back-to-back games, following last Saturday’s 5-0 hammering of Livingston.

Bojan Miovski bagging a brace, while, Ross McCrorie, Besuijen and Ryan Duncan all scored in the Reds’ biggest league victory since May 2017.

Ross County meantime were dumped out the League Cup on Wednesday, beaten 4-1 by Celtic in Dingwall.

Also, in the league, Malky Mackay’s men have lost four of five matches, their only win coming at home to Kilmarnock.

So, despite finishing sixth last time round, the Highlanders are very much in a relegation battle.

Will Aberdeen claim all three points at Victoria Park?
